We welcome everyone to join us and be a part of the St. Luke’s Millwall church family. As a community, we also want to serve each other and our local community. There are different ways you can get involved or volunteer at St Luke’s.
Here is some information about some of the different ways you can get involved in the life of the church:
Every Monday during termtime, mums from church and the local community, of diverse faith backgrounds, gather together (with their pre-schoolers if they have them!) to read the Bible together. We eat flapjacks, drink tea, and together discover more about following Jesus, as we share each others’ joys and challenges in parenting and in life. All mums are welcome, email Fuzz for more info.
Sunbeams is a safe space where babies and toddlers can play whilst their parent or parents socialise, watch them and enjoy a nice cup of coffee, tea or water.
As a church, we believe that Jesus Christ is good news for the whole of God’s creation (including all people of all ages of different cultures and from every nation).
GrowTH night shelter is an initiative by churches in Tower Hamlets to respond to homelessness in our local community. It provides both immediate shelter for the homeless and help to secure more permanent accommodation.
Craft Club is run every Thursday afternoon from 2pm to 4pm. It is a great space to learn a new skill or hang out and build some supportive relationships.
Providing English as a second language classes is one of the ways that we serve our local community.
As a church, we take safeguarding very seriously. We want our church to be a place where everyone is safe, can know and experience the love of God, and give and receive love from other people.
Jesus said, “let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14). Children’s church is one of the ways that we respond to that call from Jesus.
In Acts chapter 2, one of the key ways the church grows is through fellowship with one another. Life Groups are where we do life together.
As children transition into secondary school, we recognise that more space and time is needed for them to discuss the Bible and the different joys and challenges that they face as young people.
